Introduction
The Axis Community Research Journal (ACRJ) is a premier, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to publishing high-quality interdisciplinary research. Our focus lies at the vital intersection of community engagement, public health, social sciences, and applied humanities. ACRJ serves as a dynamic platform for scholarly work that prioritizes meaningful community participation, addresses pressing real-world problems, and actively bridges the gap between academic inquiry and practical, on-the-ground impact. We publish a diverse array of contributions, including original research articles, comprehensive reviews, detailed case studies, short communications, and critical commentaries. Our mission is to foster dialogue and innovation among researchers, practitioners, community leaders, and policymakers committed to collaborative and transformative change.

Aims and Objectives

Aims:
To establish a leading scholarly forum that advances and disseminates rigorous, participatory research with direct community relevance. ACRJ aims to catalyze evidence-based solutions and deepen theoretical understanding across its core interdisciplinary fields, ultimately contributing to sustainable community well-being and equitable social development.

Objectives:

  • Promote Participatory and Interdisciplinary Scholarship: To foster and publish research that integrates methodologies and perspectives from community engagement, public health, social sciences, and the humanities.

  • Disseminate High-Impact Research: To commit to the publication of original, methodologically sound studies that address significant community-identified challenges and contribute novel insights.

  • Bridge Research with Practice: To enhance the translation of academic knowledge into actionable strategies, tools, and policies that benefit communities directly.

  • Support Emerging and Community-Based Researchers: To provide a respected and supportive platform for early-career scholars and community partners to share their work and voices.

  • Stimulate Informed Policy and Advocacy: To shape public discourse and policy through robust research that highlights community perspectives and evidence-based recommendations.

  • Foster Ethical and Equitable Partnerships: To uphold and model the highest ethical standards in community-engaged research, emphasizing reciprocity, respect, and shared authorship.

  • Ensure Global Accessibility and Relevance: To operate as a fully open-access journal, ensuring free global access to knowledge while encouraging submissions that address both local and transnational community issues.

Scope
ACRJ is committed to an inclusive and broad scope that reflects the complex nature of community-focused work. Our published content encompasses, but is not limited to, the following thematic areas:

  • Community Engagement and Participatory Methodologies: Studies utilizing community-based participatory research (CBPR), action research, co-design, and other collaborative approaches.

  • Public Health and Community Well-being: Research on health promotion, disease prevention, health equity, social determinants of health, and community health interventions developed in partnership with populations.

  • Social Sciences in Community Contexts: Scholarly work in sociology, anthropology, political science, and economics examining community development, social justice, migration, resilience, and collective action.

  • Applied Humanities and Community Narratives: Investigations employing arts, history, philosophy, literature, and cultural studies to explore community identity, heritage, social cohesion, and public memory.

  • Integrated and Cross-Cutting Themes: Research on environmental justice, community-based education, participatory monitoring and evaluation, faith-based initiatives, technology for social good, and other topics that synthesize multiple disciplines to address community challenges.

Submission and Peer-Review Process
ACRJ invites submissions from the global research community. We employ a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, and relevance of all published work. This process guarantees impartial evaluation by independent experts in the field. Manuscripts must be submitted online through our official submission portal on the journal website.

Waiver Policy
In alignment with our commitment to accessibility and equity, ACRJ offers a partial or full waiver of the article publication fee for authors facing genuine financial constraints. This ensures that a lack of funds does not become a barrier to disseminating important community-engaged research. Details on requesting a waiver are available in our Author Guidelines.

Open Access Policy
ACRJ is a fully Open Access journal. All published content is immediately and permanently free for everyone to read, download, copy, and distribute under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. There are no subscription fees or paywalls.
